2012

One late December evening, Paweł Jeka, a student at the secondary music school in Gdynia, meets Barbara Osmólska, a student at the Fryderyk Chopin secondary music school in Warsaw, in a Warsaw café. They conceive the Spring Evening of Song and Opera, a project dedicated to promoting young vocal talent.

2013

The first concert takes place on 16 March 2013 at Piwnica na Wójtowskiej, followed by the final concert on 24 March at the Riwiera Naval Club in Gdynia. Performers are students of the Fryderyk Chopin secondary music school in Warsaw and the Zygmunt Noskowski secondary music school in Gdynia. For the first time, the Gdynia concert is held under the honorary patronage of the city's mayor, Wojciech Szczurek.

2014

The first nationwide edition of the project. Concerts on 15 March at Klub Kultury Saska Kępa in Warsaw and on 22 March at the Riwiera Naval Club in Gdynia bring together students from music schools and academies in Gdynia, Warsaw, Katowice, Wrocław and Bydgoszcz.

2015

For the first time, applications for the Spring Evening of Song and Opera take place online. Concerts on 16 March at Klub Kultury Praga-Południe and on 24 March at the Riwiera Naval Club feature students and graduates of music academies in Warsaw, Kraków, Poznań, Wrocław, Bydgoszcz and Lyon.

In cooperation with the Consulate General of Poland in Lyon, performers from Japan, China, Mexico, France, Germany, Armenia and Poland sing works in Polish on 10 March 2015 at the town hall of Lyon's 6th arrondissement. They are students of the Lyon Conservatoire and the Geneva University of Music. That year, the concerts in Lyon and Gdynia are streamed live on YouTube for the first time.

2016

The Incydent Liryczny Foundation and Festival are established, bringing together the Spring Evening of Song and Opera in Poland and the Concerts of Polish Music abroad. Cooperation with the Polish Library in Paris adds another concert to the project. For the first time, young international singers take part in the concerts in Warsaw and Gdynia. All concerts are streamed live on YouTube. Concert dates:

16 April — Polish Library in Paris;

23 April — Praga-Południe Cultural Promotion Centre, Warsaw;

1 May — Riwiera Naval Club, Gdynia;

7 May — Goethe-Institut, Lyon.

2017

The fifth anniversary edition of the Incydent Liryczny Festival is the project's largest and most international yet. In spring 2017, the festival presents six concerts in five cities across four countries.

The festival visits Switzerland for the first time on 25 March, with a concert in Neuchâtel organised in cooperation with the Geneva University of Music. The artists then perform at the Polish Library in Paris on 7 April and at the Hôtel de Monaco, home of the Embassy of Poland in France, on 8 April. The gala concert at the embassy is organised in cooperation with Ambassador Dariusz Wiśniewski.

Another concert takes place in Lyon on 23 April, continuing the festival's long-standing cooperation with local cultural institutions.

The Polish programme begins on 29 April at PROM Kultury Saska Kępa in Warsaw. The following day, 30 April, the anniversary finale takes place at the Riwiera Naval Club in Gdynia. Young singers from different European countries perform works by composers including Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Schubert and Mozart. In keeping with the festival's mission, each participant also performs a work in Polish.

2027

After a ten-year break, the festival will once again bring together young artists from across Europe through their shared passion for classical music and the promotion of Polish vocal repertoire.

The sixth edition, planned for 2027, will feature concerts in Poland, France and Switzerland, continuing the festival's international tradition.
